SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY

Senior adults are an important part of the life of First Baptist Church. It is our goal to give senior adults opportunities to continue to serve God’s church. We offer opportunities to gather for fellowship, participate in activities, make music and enjoy meals together. Here are a few of the opportunities you can be involved in.

  • Monthly "Seniors on the Move" Gatherings

*Second Monday every month at 5:00 p.m. (occasionally gatherings are at 2:00 p.m.)

Future plans will be announced in the bulletin, on the large sanctuary screen, in The Tie and on the Senior Adult Ministry bulletin board.

  • Senior Singers

We sing literature for mature voices (s.a.t.b.) No other voice parts need apply.  :)

Currently Senior Singers meet on Thursdays (Sept. - May) at 10:30 a.m. please contact Greg Lundberg at glundberg@fbcsp.org if you are interested in joining.

  • Senior Adult Sunday

This annual worship service is led by members of our Seniors on the Move group. The service typically highlights our seniors and their many gifts.

  • Spiritual Enrichment Retreats

Annual Caswell Senior Adult Coastal Retreat and Conference - "Summerfest" is our annual trip in May, Monday-Friday, to the Fort Caswell Retreat Center. We generally take around 15-25 adults on this retreat. This is the trip that our senior adults look forward to attending each year. It is a time of praising God, learning more about Him through His Word, fun activities, and centering ourselves in a wonderful setting. See Roger Wilson for more information.

  • Miscellaneous Trips and Outings

    • Seniors on the Move have taken overnight and day trips.
    • The retreat at Caswell is a Monday through Friday event
