Welcome to Sonshine Learning Center (SLC)—a warm, faith-based preschool ministry of First Baptist Church Southern Pines. We are delighted you are considering SLC for your child’s early learning journey. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about registration for the 2026–2027 school year.



When Does Registration Open?


We are currently fully enrolled for the 2026–2027 school year. If you would like to be added to our waitlist, please follow the instructions outlined below.

Join the Sonshine Learning Center Waitlist


SLC operates using a rolling waitlist, which means:

  • If your child is already on the list, you do NOT need to add them again.
  • Your child remains on the waitlist until a spot becomes available or until you request removal.


To Be Added to the Waitlist:

You may join the waitlist in one of two ways:

  1. Complete the waitlist form linked here, or
  2. Email our Director, Alison Hainley, at:

Please include:

  • Your child’s full name
  • Date of birth
  • Your contact phone number

Families are contacted in waitlist order beginning in February.
