. . .God’s people working
together – the Diaconate and members joining together in
service.
The
Diaconate, exploring ways to be more effective in ministry
and leadership, has developed a Team Ministry model in the
belief that God has gifted every believer for ministry. We
have formed seven new Ministry Teams of Deacons and members
of the congregation. Here’s an opportunity for you to serve
where your gift and passion can make a difference.
If you're not sure what your Spiritual Gifts are, we invite
you to take the
Spiritual Gifts Inventory. If you
would like to serve, please call the church office or speak
to one of the Team Ministry leaders. Let’s do all we can to
make Christ’s work here stronger and more effective.
Hospitality Ministry Team
. . . greeting
visitors to our church who are hoping to find warm,
friendly people.
You can
be a part of this team which will assist visitors in
appreciating our church services and meeting members of
our congregation. This ministry will work with three
teams:
-
The Greeter Team will welcome people into church
with a smile and a handshake
-
The Sanctuary Team will sit in assigned areas of
the Sanctuary, and introduce visitors to nearby
church members.
-
The Hospitality Packet Team will deliver
hospitality packets during a home visit, and invite
visitors to a Wednesday night supper.
New Member Ministry Team
. . .assimilating new
members into the FBCSP family – building a bridge to
fellowship.
You can
be a part of this team which assists new members for
several months as they become involved in our church
activities. The New Member Ministry Team will:
-
Meet all new members of FBCSP
-
Deliver new member packets
-
Complete a survey with the new members relating to
their interests, gifts, and other pertinent
information.
-
The
team members will sit with new members in worship,
introduce them to other members, and suggest a
Sunday School class.
Care
Ministry Team
. . .caring people
with a willingness to give of themselves by providing
encouragement and support to others.
You can
be involved with this ministry which shepherds and
provides assistance, spiritual uplifting, and love to
church members. Members of the Care Ministry Team will
compliment the role of the Sunday School Class Care
Ministry by:
-
providing spiritual care, fellowship, and assistance
to families or individuals who are not members of a
Sunday School class
-
contacting each person or family regularly by a
personal visit, and phone or mail.
Scripture, Prayer, &
Communications in Worship Ministry Team
. . . communicating
Christ through the spoken word.
This
ministry is for you to share your special talents with
our church. Composed of four teams:
-
Scripture and Prayer Team will conduct
appropriate training in public speaking, and then
read Scripture and lead in prayer during worship
services.
-
Prayer During Worship Team, in a quiet room
apart from the Sanctuary, will pray for God’s
guidance and blessing during worship services. Team
members will pray with the minister before each
worship service, and in a new effort, conduct a
program to annually read the entire Bible.
-
Audio Visual Aid Team will provide technical
assistance as needed for all Sanctuary activities,
including worship services, Bible studies, business
meetings, funerals, weddings, and special events.
-
Drama Team will act in dramatic skits during
worship services as appropriate.
Wednesday Night Supper
Ministry Team
. . . providing a
Christian family atmosphere for that great Baptist
tradition – sharing a meal together.
This is
an important part of our church family activities. Being
a part of this ministry permits you to meet and serve
more Christ-loving people in our church. The Wednesday
Night Supper Team will:
-
Enlist and schedule various church organizations,
Sunday School classes and others to serve dinner and
share fellowship during Wednesday night suppers.
-
Use
creativity in providing ideas and activities that
enhance fellowship and sharing during Wednesday
night suppers.
Hospital Visitation
Ministry Team
. . . ministering in a
special way to members of our congregation who are in the
hospital.
We all know
the importance of care and prayer during times of illness.
Many have the special gift of making others feel the power
of prayer and care during times of need. The
Hospital Visitation Team will provide friendship and
encouragement to hospitalized members, visitors and families
through Scripture reading and prayer during weekend hospital
visits.
In-Home Care Ministry Team
. . . reaching out to
those unable to worship and fellowship with the
congregation.
You can
become involved in this special ministry to serve those who
cannot travel to our church services. Both those who serve
and those who receive this time of sharing illuminate God’s
love of His people. The In-Home Care Ministry Team will
maintain contact with each FBCSP shut-in on a regular basis
through personal visits, and phone calls or mail. Communion
will be served as requested.
